Pascoe Vale FC 7-3 FC Prahran 02/05/12

Foz Cup semi finals two former winners of the competition would battle it out for a chance to win the title once again. The Lions started the brighter of the two sides as a James Blackburn shot was turned in by Mark Burton to open the scoring. Some good work from Brenno Polatti
helped Ernie Simsek double the advantage, while some good saves from Dianoosh Rasoulzadeh kept Prahran at bay. Dianoosh steped up to take a 5th foul penalty and missed by a fair distance to keep Prahran in the contest. Possibly a contender for goal of the season when a long ball was chested down by Blackburn into the path of Andre Caro who volleyed home to give his side a 3-0 half time lead. Simsek opened the second half scoring before Blackburn made it 5-0 and the lions had one foot in the final. A briliant passing move from the lions got Burton his second. Blackburn then got his second shortly after as it looked like it could get embarrassing for Prahran. Maxi Avram hit 2 quick goals to add some respectability to the scoreline. Simsek conceded a penalty which former Pascoe Vale man Ahmed Azzam had saved by lions number 2 Cem Bicer. Hep Tran got a conciliation goal but Prahran were out once again at the business end of a tournament while Pascoe Vale get the chance to challenge for another Foz Cup Crown.

North Melbourne 1-4 FC Balwyn 02/05/12

After seeing Pascoe Vale reach the final North Melbourne would be hoping to join their arc rivals in the final. Balwyn however would have something to say about that when Ivan Zilic created an early chance for strike partner Robert Zadworny which he blew. A half court screamer from Ben Bodo opened the scoring for the bullets before Zadworny rattled the upright as it was all Balwyn in the opening exchanges. Zilic made it 2-0 soon after to stun the champions. In form Adam Cooper pulled one back for the vipers as they looked to overhaul the 2 goal advantage. Bodo then smashed home another to restore the 2 goal advantage going into half time 3-1 ahead. Second half was underway and Zadworny made it 4-1 on the counter attack to really make it hard for North. North second half domination was all to clear with the bullets holding on for dear life. North went for broke late in the day putting Adam Cooper in goals for their power play and they continued to pressure the Balwyn goals. Frano Saric then showed why he is one of the top line keeper in the league making at least 6 saves in the dieing stages and he managed to keep the champions out and reach their first Foz Cup final where they will meet former winner Pascoe Vale. While North were left to think what might have been as they look forward to next season.
