A goal in the last minute from midfielder Paul McCarthy has seen Bayswater City beat Balcatta 1-0 in Sundays All Flags Premier Division game at Frank Drago Reserve. The Irish midfielder was quickest to react, after Gustavo Giron-Marulanda’s long-range shot had crashed off the post, to fire home from close-range, and send the home supporters in raptures. “We had to battle hard today, but we got our rewards late,” McCarthy said.
Stirling Lions has ended Sorrento’s undefeated start to the All Flags WA State Premier League season with a 3-2 win at Percy Doyle Reserve. “We had a great first half, but probably sat a little too deep in the second which caused us some problems,” Stirling assistant Coach Gary Williams said.
Cockburn City Coach Scott Miller ended his reign at the club, with a hard fought 3-3 draw against All Flag Soccer Premier league leaders Bayswater City at Dalmatinac Park on Saturday.

Former Perth Glory defender Scott Miller watched his side dismantle Floreat Athena 5-0 at Dalmatinac Park in week five of the All Flags WA Premier League. Cockburn’s second-half substitute John Thornley bagged a hat-trick off the bench to lead his side to victory. First half goals to English midfielders Paul Lloyd and Jack Eades sent Cockburn on their way, before Thornley’s late heroics.
Bayswater continued their perfect start to the All Flags soccer Premier League with a come from behind 3-2 win against Bunbury at Payne Park on Saturday. The home side had hit the front midway through the second half with goals from Ryan Francis and player-coach Matt Lock, but Bayswater hit back to take all three points. Coach Chris Coyne was happy with the win despite a below par performance. “It was a disgustingly ugly win, but I’d bite your hand off for it,” he said. “They’re the ones you want, when you don’t play well but you win, then you’re happy. I was disappointed with the performance but happy with the result.”
Armadale surged to the top of the WA Premier League following a dramatic 3-2 victory over Cockburn City at Dalmatinac Park. New signing Dannie Richman honoured his first outing for the Reds by grabbing a stoppage time winner after goals by Ravi Kuppusamy and Mark Peers were cancelled out by Jack Eades’ first half double. “It’s a great result, it was a good game, entertaining for the spectators and (we’re) happy to get three points,” said winning coach Lee Bamber, who isn’t about to get carried away by his teams’ undefeated start to the season. “If we’re going to be top of the league I’d rather it was in September, not in March.”
Stirling Lions began the 2013 All Flags Premier League season, with a hard fought 2-1 win against newly promoted Cockburn City at Macedonia Park on Saturday afternoon.
Bayswater City ended a 26-year wait for a major trophy when they beat Cockburn City 2-1 to win the 2013 Football West Night Series Final at Macedonia Park on Sunday Evening.
