CENTRAL Coast Mariners gave up an early lead to Chinese Super League giant Guangzhou Evergrande to go down 2-1 in their 2013 AFC Champions League Round of 16 First-Leg tie in Gosford on Wednesday.

THE Champions of the Hyundai A-League are just one step away from reaching the last 16 of Asia’s premier club competition after Michael McGlinchey’s 80th minute goal secured the Central Coast Mariners a courageous 1-0 win over Suwon Bluewings in Korea Republic on Tuesday.

For the first time in the 8 year history of the Central Coast Mariners a competitive match played by the club will not be heard live on Coast-FM 963.  The local community broadcaster was unable to come to terms with the World Sport Group (WSG) over broadcast rights to this year’s Asian Champions League (ACL).
